sheridan colonial
A remodel of a traditional Minneapolis colonial reconfigured the home to optimize functionality for a young family. The client's goals included creating an open-concept kitchen and dining space, a new primary suite, and built-in laundry on the second level.
The design centered on the thoughtful removal of a secondary service staircase, allowing for an expanded kitchen and pantry while preserving the home's historic character, original millwork, and wood floors.
On the second level, a bathroom and walk-in closet were added to the primary suite, along with a stacked laundry tucked into a hallway closet, utilizing existing space to introduce modern conveniences with minimal intervention. Natural materials, thoughtful use of color, and carefully considered details reflect the client's refined design aesthetic.
